Social Trek/44 - August 4 - Anbu Illam
As a part of 'Trek with a cause' initiatives of CTC, we are organizing a kids' trek on Sunday, August 4th, 2013.
The objective of this one day trek is to take out 30+ boys from the Anbu illam orphanage home to Nagalapuram and provide them a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
About Anbu Illam:
This home is registered charitable trust, started in May 2005.
Objective: Cater to basic needs of children like shelter, food, medical assistance & education.
Total number of children: 26
Participants will provide transportation, guidance and sponsor (share transportation/food costs for kids). We will pick up the kids from the home in Manali on Sunday morning 5:30 am, take them to Nagala, guide them along the initial water stream, let them splash in the water, play games, have lunch, snacks and return to the Chennai around 8pm.
Agenda:
Each participant will be a volunteer taking full care of a kid for the entire day. care of one kid. be assigned with the responsibility of taking.
Be responsible for the travel, food and basic needs of the kids.
4:30am - assemble at Tidel Park (Bus stop)
4:40am - assemble at Madhya Kailash (Bus stop)
4:50am - assemble at Guindy Kathypara (Toyota showroom)
5:10am - assemble at Koyambedu (Nathans Cafe)
5:20am - assemble at Guindy (Le Meridien)
5:30am - pick up the kids at the home in Manali
9am - arrival at the dam in Nagalapuram (Western side)
10am - 3km trek along scenic stream
12pm-3pm - enjoy playing with the kids near a beautiful water falls + have lunch
4pm - return back to the dam/cars
6pm - start our return to Chennai
8pm - drop the kids at the home
9pm - disperse home
Expense
Participation expense is Rs.700/- which includes sharing the cost of transportation and food for both participants and the kids. Food will be provided by the organizers.

This Social Trek is only for those who are interested to spend time with the kids and make them happy. Others, you have many more treks upcoming. (Those who join and behave selfishly without caring the Kids assigned to them will be Blacklisted)
Transportation:
In the social treks we usually run short of transportation in Social Treks. So we would request the participants to bring along a car as far as possible. Fuel cost will be reimbursed.
If any car participants wish to bring without reimbursement pls let us know.
We also welcome member who can’t join the trek but still provide us their car. This will help us reducing the expenses and any balance amount left can be given to the home.
What to bring?
Comfortable pair of walking shoes
Small backpack to carry personal items, water and food
1 bottle of water (filled)
Spare set of clothes (to change after splashing in water)
Sun cap, sunscreen

DROPOUT POLICY:

CTC maintains a BLACKLIST policy against people who drop out at the last minute without informing the organizers If someone drops out after the arrangements (food, transport, etc) have been made will have to bear expanses.
